Prison & bleak centre of Moor
Princetown village, Prison, Highly visible TV mast
at Princetown. Lots of inaccessible areas. Generally awful riding
AVOID:
Military Area when firing, Rocky areas, Going
further North into moor. Bridlepath through Dunghill very boggy
TAKE CARE:
Busy main roads, Bridlepath at 608 739
south of Roundhill farm can be boggy. Bridlepath running W to E. on top of map
has several treacherous boggy patches that come upon you and can be right in
middle of path. At Broad Hole on River Cowslick 592 787 there is a bog just N of
crossing, Even worse at 607 781 crossing West Dart is very difficult indeed and
takes ages. Only way is go down river and lead horse back up bank. Not
recommended. (improvements in this area are under consideration by DNPA)
ROUTES: P:
Princetown -easy down old railway track
east B –Beardown Tor (north of) is not easy.
