Interesting riding in good visibility
High Ground, Interesting riding in good visibility,
Tors, & antiquities, Lots of bogs to avoid but good ground and lots of places to
canter in between.
AVOID:
Army range when firing, poor ground to south west,
and lots of bogs
TAKE CARE:
Check weather and stay on marked tracks if unsure,
lots of interesting rides but easy to get lost in bad visibility

Newtake wall to south has no gates except one on
route C
ROUTES
C- circular route goes north to south approx, care
needed to follow. if in doubt generally stay closer to moor wall and you will
soon find your way again.
W- Whitestone hill route is great in good weather
and clear visibility.The long part shown over the Tors is a clearly marked
walker’s track.
Points of Interest:
Antiquities including Scorhill (pronounced Scorrill)
665 875 and White moor stone 663 897 stone circles.
Watern Tor with the Thurlestone rock with a hole
known as the keyhole that you can ride through.
Taw`Marsh is impressive & unusual for Dartmoor flat
plain too look at.

Easiest from top north east corner at driving down
reasonable lane from Stickepath and parking just north of Moor farm known
locally as Paines Bridge 658 913
